The sacred hills of Samson are crowded with entrance graves and cairns. In the Bronze Age, all was dry land and many houses and field walls are now beneath the sea shown in this picture. Then, the sun would have set between these two hills rising from a fertile plain.

Just a simple straight forward shot and patience. I had to wait half an hour for the sun to be in the right place - you can't hurry nature. Despite all the modern technological gimmickry, photography is still all about being in the right place at the right time. | thecaptain (2004-08-16) | Fantastic. Where was this taken from Thorgrim ? My first guess would have been a boat, but that doesnt seem to fit with the waiting for half an hour for the right position. So my next guess would be from the Harbour wall or near Bants Cairn with a telephoto lens. | Thorgrim (2004-08-16) | It's from the harbour wall - no telephoto and no tripod, just rested my arms on the wall to reduce camera shake and let the camera do the rest. Thanks Cap. | DavidRaven (2004-08-16) | Amazing. It's on my list of 'must visit' places :-) |
