| Posted Comments: Showell Osborn (2004-09-23) | I'm told Sir Cloudsley Shovell is an ancestor of mine. Showell was my grandmother's maiden name. An amazing life, tragic death. | Thorgrim (2004-09-23) | The story goes that the fleet was miles off course and a Scillonian sailor on one of the ships said so. He was ignored - some say flogged for insubordination - and so the whole fleet just sailed onto the various rocks and ledges surrrounding the islands. |
