Description I couldn't resist this. I took this picture on the walk up to West Kennet Long Barrow. On the way up there is a crop circle and another at the top. This was taken from the lower one. It's my first experience of a crop circle and my first experience of Silbury Hill, and West Kennet Long Barrow come to that. It was an utterly captivating experience.

This is a fantastic picture - I can almost feel what you were feeling! I would love to see a crop circle, what are they all about... and why are there so many at Avebury each year.... its so intriguing!

I am impressed by crop circles too. I don't believe for one moment that they are made by UFO's or natural energy fields, but they are so beautiful and intricate. The geometry of arcs and curves in recent designs is unbelievably complex and I just can't see how people with lengths of rope and planks on their feet can produce these fantastic PERFECT designs in the dark over night! Whoever makes them and how is beyond me but I rate them as landscape art of the very highest quality.

You can do many things with ropes and planks, dont forget rope + point = compass and with compass (and ropes !) we created cathedrals ;)

If this is a 2004 photo, I went in this crop circle too, do you remind if it was the one with sun rays and crescent moon mixed together ? Very simple and beautiful.
