Description 16 x 20" - mixed media on watercolour paper - 'Gurness Stones and Movement'.
An abstract based on a blurred photograph my 7 year old son took on a visit to the Broch of Gurness, Orkney. I liked the idea of keeping the feeling of solidity, 'realness' of rocks, but also emphasising the blurred areas, which might be the passing of time, or a glimpse into past times when the broch complex was a busy community. It's about summing up a place from a tiny snapshot.
