What is the tidal range here? and do the stones get completely covered each tide? | Runemage (2011-09-01) | There's something so forlorn about this monument returning to the Earth and slowly being deconstructed by the tides. It's in such a liminal place and soon it's about to go out of existence. | krautrock (2011-09-01) | The tidal range here is two hours after low flat. I never saw the stones at high tide but they should be nearly complete covered with water. I visited Sylt for the first time. It was a daytrip and I lent me a bike. 10 minutes after I started my trip, it began a heavy rain and storm. I found a miserable shelter under willow bushes. I stood there for 1 hour and I'm getting really wet. After a coffee and a Museums visit in the next town (Keitum) I continued my tour with nearly dry chlothes. I lost a lot of time and I couldn't see all the barrows as I planned. | TheCaptain (2011-09-02) | Good effort! The things we put ourselves through to see these old stones! |
