Tuesday morning we got the canvas and bags off from the site and finished cleaning off the previous years surface (just at the top of the archaeology). The clean surface helped visualize the buildings, the walls and features suddenly standing out very clearly.
The clean-off produced some nice small-finds, worked flints, skaill-knives and the odd piece of pot – not something unusual on many digs but here the pot is 5,000 + years old! |
