The huge glass walled pavilion allows visitors to get a 360 degree view of the monument whilst protecting it from the elements, vandals etc. The temperature remains at a constant throughout the year at 18-20 degrees C to protect the remnante of the paint on the interior - unfortunately not visible. |

(2011-08-03) | Yes, of course it would be better au naturel but it's one hell of an improvement on the state it was left in for the last 20 years post excavation. As such, I think they have made a decent job of presenting it - plenty of room round it, lots of light. The design of the roof is intended to represent the patterns of the paint ie lozenge shapes. |
