Stokesay Castle, just south of Craven Arms in Shropshire. This is the superlative picturesque fortified manor house, now under the care of English Heritage. For nearby prehistory, Norton Camp hillfort overlooks from the northeast, and a short drive north to Craven Arms arrives at the Secret Hills Discovery Centre.
