I came across this menhir whilst looking for another stone of 8mtrs, which I eventually discovered in a family front garden behind some trees.
This stone appeared to be original as the workmen had positioned huge 4' square boulders around it to protect it.
The road was blocked, I could go no further. The image was quite striking and one not be missed. A number plate type sign had been drilled to the menhir saying 'RESPECT' but was at the wrong angle to include in this pic.
I love the half face on the menhir, he appears quite happy in his eternal position. |
