At the time of the Major lunar southern standstill ( last seen in 2006 ), the full Moon would rise to the left of the peak, and then pass to the right , closely following the contour of the skyline. At the time of this Dolmen's construction, the moon would have been a little lower in the sky than today and it would have disappeared and then reappeared behind the peaks on it's way to it's setting position.
