| Posted Comments: cazzyjane (2011-05-02) | What a shame - I hope someone sees it soon. :(. Lovely photo. The stones in that light do look particularly stunning. | Runemage (2011-05-02) | Huge lumps of sparkly quartzite, thorn blossom and lambs, it has to be Beltane :-D
Wish that electricity pole could be relocated... | mikeaitch (2011-05-03) | Thanks cazzyjane, yes shame about the pole Rune but atleast it's the other side of the hedge, once you're among the stones you become oblivious to it thankfully. | rldixon (2011-05-05) | the pole is easy to revove with photoshop :D | mikeaitch (2011-05-05) | Yes Richard, very easily - it's a battle I often have with myself though as I also like to show sites warts and all so as not to be misleading to anyone. | Andy B (2011-05-05) | Yes I think I'd prefer we had accurate renditions of sites unless its an obviously arty rendition, what does everyone else think? | Runemage (2011-05-05) | Probably a good forum topic if it would reach a wider audience?
Where do you stop with photoshop. Remove the 20th century intrusions then enhance the appearance of the stones, add a few more blooms in the hedgerow....It's not an application I use but I think it would be better if people who do actually say what they have removed etc. otherwise our site pics will look nothing like the actual site visitors will find today. | Sunny100 (2011-05-05) | You could even take away the sheep from the photo, but taking out everyday things spoils the picture - making it look too good and too correct. Not really something I would do. | rldixon (2011-05-05) | maybee the landowner should be persuaded to let one or two of the bushes in the hedgrow grow a bit higher to obscure the posts
i try not to get things like telegraph posts in my photos with good composition and camera angles but i must admit ive removed a few things with photoshop too
the trick is not to over use it | Sunny100 (2011-05-05) | Yes, but then the power company would come along and cut the bushes down to stop the branches touching the cables. | rldixon (2011-05-05) | if my memory serves me well the power lines run parallel to the bushes and a good few yards behind them so i think they would be far enough away | mikeaitch (2011-05-06) | You right Richard, funny enough the shot is misleading in a way because it's a long distance zoom from the gateway, this makes the pole look closer to the stones than it actually is. If taken closer I probably would have managed to make the pole out of focus or even cropped it out. | Runemage (2011-05-06) | Can't say as I noticed it much when I was there, pre-digicam days, too busy looking at the stones themselves. Just found it on some pics when they were developed. For one that I put in an album, I did creatively cut the sky in an attractive shape to get rid if it.
