|Description ||Frozen waterfall in the Alt nan Uamh ( stream of the caves ) valley. Near here are the caves excvated by Peach and Horne. Remains of Lynx, Cave bear and human settlement have been found in the caves.
Good area for caving as well.
Scottish Natural Heritage have ensured the site will no longer be a wonderful remote experience with an ambience rating off the meg portal scale by putting in a "granny path " ( sorry ,old climbers term ). The path does look shiny and white from the hillside and you wont get lost but does nothing for the experience of visiting the caves.|
|Fantastic but we do need a grid ref, Spindrift. Thanks|
|Point taken - I was in a hurry - thats my excuse !!
Grid ref is NC 275 171 Nearest "village" is Inchnadamph|
