However, the tumuli are easy to see from the gravel road and the main road between Heidmoor and Bad Bramstedt. Recently some of the huge trees on the tumuli were cut down, so there is an even better view now!
Hedgerows by the barrows were used as a gravel and stone deposit after ploughing the fields. It was not unusual to find some fossils (urchins etc.) and interesting shaped flintstones there.
The photo was made last May while walking the dog through the blooming lilacs! |
