This eroded site is traditionally the Inauguration Place of the kings of Thomond and consists of a large mound and other earthworks. It is bounded by an earthen bank in the E and a stream in the SW beyond which is a 6'6" high standing stone. Originally much higher this stone must surely have had some ritualistic function. |
