Description From the West.
Sprockhoff identified 4 orthostats and one capstone [1]. He mentioned a total number of eight preserved megaliths + fragments. The structure was already destroyed when Wächter examined it [1], [2]. Despite this damages Sprockhoff assumed the original ground-plan could be clarified by an excavation.
Sitename: Hoststeine, Sprockhoff 899, Kalkriese Großsteingrab

Visit report February 2011: Heavily overgrown with nice robinia and bushes. The chamber probably was oriented approx. East-West. Two stones possibly are orthostats of the Southern long-side almost in situ. One fallen stone near the assumed western end appears to be a capstone. The other megaliths are more difficult to attribute as smaller capstones and large orthostats usually have similar sizes.
