This foreshortened long-distance shot is due to the intimidating presence of a bull in the field! The pointed stone at the rear is in fact some way back from the rest and it's not clear whether it was part of the original tomb. The shot shows 2 uprights with a jumble of smaller pieces/stones lying on and around the one on the right. The rear stone is a slab placed on its long edge between the uprights in the manner of wedge tombs but is surely too short to be such a side stone. Possibly it is a dislodged and broken capstone suggesting that the tomb is a portal dolmen. |
