In the sixties or in the seventies an archaeologist decided to move it up at the same place.
It has another name: dolmen de Beauregard, given from a farm around.
This dolmen can be found between Meschers sur Gironde and Semussac. At the crossroad of the silo, take the white signposts "Beloire", "Beauregard". The dolmen is on the left, right next to the road and not in the middle of the field.
It is also in poudingue stone. It is less than 1.5 metres high and but the capstone is almost 2 metres long.
A lovely axe-hammer was discovered not far away from the domen. It was in green dolerite, it was 18 centimetres long and 5.5 centimetres large. It is now in the museum of Royan. |
