|Description ||Auqhuhollie Standing Stone at NO-823907 is called Lang Stane on the OS1:50000 but Elizabeth Sutherland in her "Pictish Guide" calls it after the nearby farm. It has a Ogham inscription and is in a nice position with good views to South, East and West.|
|Shire Archeologist provided the following notes:-
Symbol stone; on the NE face is a Pictish symbol of a double-disc with
cross-bar; below it are traces of another symbol involving circles. The SE
angle bears a complete Ogham inscription, said to be reading -VUO NO N (I)
TEDOV. The symbols are considerably weathered and are now almost
completely obscured. The stone is alleged to have been part of a stone
circle but no sign of one could be seen in 1865 or 1965.|
