| Posted Comments: eforrest25 (2005-03-02) | I visited this site sixteen years ago and had the wonderful experience of visiting the "museum" which was in Mr. Liddel's side porch, where he would pass around many of the artifacts found in his digs. Edinburgh clearly had not taken a hand in it at that time. He and his dog led you to what was then a newly excavated Bronze Age village, apparently of a different age than the Tomb. After giving us an introduction, Mr. Liddel put his dog in charge of taking us up the hill. The dog litterally herded us through a gate and up the path until we found it. You do get on your knees and slide through the entrance. It is one of the most interesting places we visited. We will be returning to Orkney in May and although I doubt that things are the same as they were in 1989, I hope Mr. Liddel is still there. | kate (2005-06-03) | This is a great place......I'm hoping to visit the orkney's with a friend who is a native |
