| Posted Comments: Runemage (2011-01-26) | There are a surprising range of colours in this image and some unusual striations in the capstone. Beautiful, Krautrock! | Martin L (2011-01-26) | And there are several cupmarks on the capstone too. But due to striations, different lichen and algae they are invisible without low light/side-flash. | krautrock (2011-01-26) | Thank you Runemage! I tried to spot the cupmarks but I couldn't find them. Furthermore it's a little bit difficult to climb up this huge capstone. Martin, could you spot the cupmarks with your lights? | Martin L (2011-01-26) | Not really ;))))) :

And yes I was surprised how tall it is. The bushes let it look smaller. | Martin L (2011-01-26) | @Runemage: the capstone is an inhomogeneous (migmatite) granite afaik. In its original Scandinavian home there are some glacially smoothened bedrock surfaces of this type. Beautiful! |
