Assuming the chamber was not longer than today the fallen capstones visible inside the chamber are C2 and C3 (counting from the West). The chamber was abused as a quarry in historic times and is damaged by blasting attempts. H. Bödiker (“Althertümer im Amte Meppen”, 1827) reported an enclosure (as usual at these type of chambers), but even in the 1920 when Sprockhoff et al. examined the site the kerb-stones were all lost in the meantime. Bödiker found a funnel beaker and a neolithic stone axe.
The ambience is affected by the nearby road, but at least it gives some sense of scale in this picture.
