Description [B/w@Janet and Colin Bord]. The King Stone stands beside the famous Rollright stone circle near Chipping Norton.

Dating from the Neolithic period, this strange-shaped standing stone (twisted at the top) is 2.4 metres high and 1.5 metres in circumference.

It was probably a marker stone to the prehistoric tomb known as 'The Whispering Knights', and just over the road 'The King's Men' a circle of 70 or more standing stones, some quite little and some nearly 7 feet tall.

Whoops, sorry mist out the word "image" after B/w at the top left-hand side of the description.
