This was excavated at Tyr yn y Wlad farm near Crickhowell, afterwhich it became a footbridge in Glanusk Park, Brecon.
On the pillar-stone there are Ogham and Latin inscriptions from the 5th-6th century CE. The Ogham one reads: TURPILI LI MAQUI TRIL LUNI or 'The Stone of Turpillius, son of Trilllunus'. The Latin is: TVRPILLI (h) ICIA CIT PVVERI TRILVNI DVNOCA TI or 'The Stone of Turpillius, he lies here, son of Duncocat' (Dingat). |
