A 220' circle henge with a 100' diameter stone circle within the bank and ditch. Originally there were 12 stones but only 4 survive one being broken off to half its original height. The three intact stones measure 17', 15'6" and 15'. Within the circle is a cove. The slot between the cove's two portals aligns exactly on the round boss of Maes Howe. |

(2004-05-05) | I really MUST get out to Orkney sometime. I just love the shapes of these stones. And there is so much over there for me to rush around seeing. |
