Non was the daughter of Prince Cynyr of Pembroke and granddaughter of Brychan, king of Brecknock. She gave birth to her son, St David, here in 500 CE. The well was famed for it's healing qualities; nowadays it tends to be used as a wishing well. To the rear of the well, in a niche, stands a white coloured statue of St Non, though some claim it is the Virgin Mary. |
