In two weeks I visit Scotland and I am in search of the place of this stone.
Does it ring a bell by somebody in this forum

It must ring someone's bell - it already has an 'excellent' vote!

Is it just me or doesn't this look like a door socket? and the stone to the right appears to have modern looking bolster marks, is this someone's garden path?

srt [x2] doesn't stand for 'some real teasing', does it?

Probably it is teasing. I really don't know. The person who send this picture told me that it is very old and the local people do not know what is the meaning of this.
I also thought it was a hole to close a fence or something.
I studied all the cuprings in the internet but couldn't find it. So I hope somebody can help me.

I still do not know where this is.
I know it has to be at the Orkneys. Probably one of the brochs.
But which one?

I saw holes like this in Sardinian rock tombs and were supposed to be door hinge sockets. I am posting my Sardinian pictures over the next week.
