| Posted Comments: (2005-01-18) | why is it known as the accursed field? | AngieLake (2005-01-18) | I've just been researching this site and found this ref on an old printout: "The field this monument stands (in) has traditionally been known as the Accursed Field, a reference to its supposed lack of fertility. Julian Cope however suggests the name may be a corruption of 'Field O'Koeur'." (Taken from www.stone-circles.org.uk in 2003) |
