The Golspie Pictish Stone no 2 Class II. This stone is one of over 20 in the museum. It dates from the 7th-9th century. Carved on the slab (back) there is a beast, a warrior striding out with a double-headed axe, Dirk facing a lion, a fish symbol and two serpents biting their own tails. On the front is a Pictish sculptured cross. |
