It is a round headed cross, dating probably from the 6C and is 9 foot tall. Christ is depicted on the cross with arms outstretched. Lower down a spear rises from a chalice and there is a faint inscription. It may commemorate St Credan, a 6C monk and missionary from Ireland. He was the son of St Illogan. |
