Located in the Parish of Rainow in the hills above Macclesfield, Brock Low, a huge mound which is almost certainly natural, but may have been used as a Bronze Age burial site. Located in a field to the right of Lamin Load farm and overlooking Lamaload Reservoir, the tumulus was described by a local antiquarian in the 19th century when it was reportedly '465ft in circumference and 24ft high'. A survey in 1988 revealed that much of the mound had been removed by quarrying and was then only circa 58m by 48m in diameter with much of the interior having been robbed away. The survey also revealed that the mound was composed of sand and rounded pebbles and was possibly glacial, but may have contained some secondary prehistoric burials.
