Description The Hillfort in Cote D'or Bourgogne was inhabited from the Bronze Age and apparantly vacated around 400 BCE. It was again inhabited from about 200 BCE until the arrival of the Romans when the population transferred once and for all to Chatillon-sur-Seine. The tribe living there are thought to have been reponsible for the lavish tumuli in the foothills, though these are now largely plowed over.
On the top, local archeologists are excavating an unusual chalky paved area.

Hi Alex, once again.

This structure is by the way not ancient.
This is the pile of stones that have been pulled out of the trench at the fortification at the digs from 2005 to 2007. Unfortunately nobody cared about cleaning the area again.

Something additional to the western fortification on top of the hill: This one dates back to late bronze age and continued until late latene. So it has been vacated much earlier! Most probably it started in the late neolithic age, as some findings asume.
During most parts of the bronze age it seems to have been uninhabited, at least there is no evidence for a settlement for this period yet.

The problem of the top area of mont lassois is, that there is no stratigraphy and dating is very difficult.
What you show in your other pictures are basements of two very uncommon houses with apsides, probably of mediterranean influence, that you can also see by example at the Krater of Vix. This makes Vix some kind of special ;)

All in all, the situation at the top of the hill is very difficult for the french and german archaeologists.
If you are further interested (and if you understand french) in Vix and Mont Lassois I can send you some reports of the digs, message me if you want!
