|Description ||Standing Stone at Newchurch in Pendle, Lancashire, at SD.823393. Another view of the small standing stone just inside the gate of St Mary's churchyard. It has some sort of carvings on it - like notches and indentations. Could it have come from a long lost stone circle half a mile S. Can't be certain about this stone though.|

I'm not sure about this one. It's not a prehistoric stone obviously, but is more probably the shaft of the Churchyard Cross mentioned by local historian Clifford Byrne in his Newchurch-in-Pendle: Folklore, Fact and Fiction (Marsden Antiquarians: Nelson 1982). I'd give it its own site entry as the Church Cross to be on the safe side.
