Description Kilpeck Church, Herefordshire, at SO.445304. A green man carving on the outside wall of this 12th century Norman church. Quite frightening. The carving is probably more recent.

Is it possible for there to be a subsection for 'Green Man' in the History section, as I love these carvings? (Maybe I'm asking too much here?!) Have a few pics worth posting, inc some wooden ones from Winchester Cathedral Choir this May.

Yes, I agree with you there should be a section for 'Green Man'. These carvings are all over the place - usually in churches, but in other places too. Ask Andy B what he thinks.

I disagree. This is the Megalithic Portal. It is here for megalithic and prehistoric sites, and in my opinion, should not include anything Roman and beyond. It takes a heck of a lot of work, time, funding, resources etc to keep the site running, without getting sidetracked into other fields.
Perhaps somebody interested in such other matters should start a seperate web resource of their own.

Ok Captain. That's fine, I understand - you all do a brilliant job. Was just wondering. ;-)

Well yes, perhaps we should leave the 'Green Men' where they are - on a website for just that. After all, they are not Megaliths, are they. The Captain is probably right when you think about it.

That's why I suggested a sub-section to the History section, rather than the main Meg P site pages. ;-)

Yes Angie that would be ok. But I doubt whether Andy and his team would run with that idea. But you never know!
