| Posted Comments: theCaptain (2010-12-01) | I have to laugh. You have come over from Poland to visit this site, yet it is the nearest real megalithic site to where I have lived for 17 years, and yet I still have not properly visited it! (I have once seen it from the nearby lanes, but decided not to go in the field full of cattle at that time). | SolarMegalith (2010-12-01) | It's kind of funny indeed :) But it's often like that, you don't visit the places close to you because "you can go there anytime". Anyway, the site has very nice atmosphere, I was lucky enough to catch a very sunny day to visit it (together with Lanhill Long Barrow, Starveall Long Barrow, Nan Tow's Tump, Leighterton Long Barrow and Dyrham Camp). However, the sources about this site seem to be slim and on the base of preserved remains it's difficult to say what kind of monument it was, perhaps another long barrow ? |
