All orthostats are preserved in situ except for NW3 and NW4. The latter have inclined towards the chamber. This probably happened when capstone 4 was robbed and Capstone 3 was moved. Capstone 2 is damaged by explosives, the 2 other capstones are preserved, but moved as a result of the destruction attempts. The entrance was located between SE2 and SE3. No visible traces of a passage or kerbstones. Situated inside the heavily eroded remains of the barrow. April 2010 |
