Description The well, blocking - as it were - the end of the lane.
To its left a private cottage, to its right a narrow gate into the churchyard. (Also padlocked).
That church was like Fort Knox yesterday!

Rune, this is for you. Just to show you that it is hard to tell what is behind the well. The narrow churchyard access gate from the well is to the right here, and the north wall of the church itself is some distance from the wall on my right. (See separate pic.)

Thank-you Angie, that looks such a forlorn place. If someone pressure-washes that moss off much of it could go in the well. I wonder if there is access to it from the church side, it didn't look like it from your photos through the grille. I wonder where the hundreds of people stood at the well-blessing ceremony, not there, that's for sure ;-)
I guess there's too much vandalism etc. these days to leave churches open like they used to be years ago.
I always wonder what makes people build well-houses in such a confining manner as it takes away much of the sun and moonlight hours daily from the water itself.
