Please give me a helpful advice what is wrong with this picture. I do not exactly know what „6“ means, but it looks like the picture is nearly only half as good as could be. Certainly it is not perfect, but i really would appreciate some information on how to improve the qualitiy of pictures as I do not want to bash anyone’s eyes with poor photos. Thank you in advance.

I like this, it's well done, like all your photo's. But I wouldn't say a 6 is a bad rating.

Cerrig, thank you very much for your kind feedback. I am really not sure what the voter meant by „6“ as this is not precisely defined. But „6“ out of 10 translates as "60%" imo and this normally is something like „adequate“. So it might imply there are some major mistakes. As I am a photographic amateur i am very interested in the avoidance of obvious (for others) mistakes.

Martin, I would be very happy to have all my photo's as "adequate" as this one,but my photography would need to improve quite a bit for that to be true. But there have been an awful lot of snow photo's lately, and most people i know are looking forward to the spring time.Maybe this is affecting peoples tendencies at the moment. I would like to see this one done in the Spring time, with some leaves on the trees and some sun beams and shadows in the chamber. That would be an uplifter to see at the end of a long winter. This one would have it's proper affect in the run up to xmas I would say.
So maybe it's more than the photo's merit's that count,it may be tied up with the timing of the unveiling too.I havn't really thought about this before,so i'm just thinking out loud here(which is a really weird thing to say/type,)I'm getting a bit philosophical now, never a good idea,so i'll leave you with my "feedback" and i hope it may help, not that i know much about it.keep the photo's coming though, they are always good, and it's interesting to see the Continental monuments,I always have a peek.

;-) Thanks for getting philosphical. And i really appreciate your winter images. Hope we did not have to wait for next xmas to see some more...Unfortunately megaliths here tend to get overgrown in the spring and summertime and are usually surrounded by trees like in this case.

I've given up worrying about my photo ratings since one of mine got six 10s and one 1 - average 8.71. Although I'd be quite happy to have as many 10s as you've got.

Maybe some sort of rating advice,in the manner of the new sites condition form would be helpful.Or is this old hat.
