Black is 'Du', isn't it?) | cerrig (2010-01-21) | It is indeed Angie, The Black mountain is Mynydd Ddu really,but the whole lump,Fan Brycheiniog and Fan Foel etc is more popularly known as the Black Mountain,as opposed to the Easten Brecon Beacons,who are known as the Black Mountains(plural) It can get a bit confusing,i once tried to explain it to a visitor who refused to believe me,probably thought i was joshing him, as if.
incidentally,Cerrig Duon would be the Black Stones,and as you've visited and seen for yourself,they aren't Black at all.So it makes me wonder what the Black bit refers to. |
