| Posted Comments: AngieLake (2010-01-01) | Tim, I do envy you being here on Winter Solstice. Though I have been one 16th Dec. in harsh frost when it was grey and bleak, this snowy scene looks so gentle and welcoming.
At least two dowses of ritual movement that I've done over the years have included what I'm sure is this stone in the foreground, and this view towards the highest part of the bank towards the W or SW. | oriana (2012-01-29) | Are you aware what you based your choice of stone on? | AngieLake (2012-01-29) | This is the stone without the snow http://www.megalithic.co.uk/modules.php?op=modload&name=a312&file=index&do=showpic&pid=41405
If you click on 'next picture' [just above that photo in the link] you'll see the view in the opposite direction, towards 40 degs.
Checking out my ritual movement dowse back in August 2002: After the procession [which entered via the SSE causeway and proceded clockwise around the central area] had focussed on the Cove and the SW partly-leaning stone, it then exited via the SSE causeway in a looping motion, before processing along the raised causeway, then heading west to a point where it stopped and headed towards the high banks of the henge. On mounting the bank to its summit, I found myself at the highest point overlooking the nearest partly-leaning stone at SW, and facing the dip in the bank opposite, and the stone at the far side (photo above.) |
