Tripple Tide line/strandline in sheltered Xizi Valley. The upper line is +230 m above sea level.
This is positive evidence of a great flood most likely caused by meltwater from the Northern Ice sheet.
Lines in soil may be the result of storm action in the Caspian Sea (over time and as the water level receded ) with waves funneling into the valley. Water drained via the Black Sea and Bosporus to the Aegean.
Dates and relative elevation ( to account for tectonic uplift ) need to be determined.
The idelines suggest a huge inland sea encompassing the Aral, Caspian, and Black Seas which may have persisted up to the point when global seas normalised after the Ice Age. |
