(2004-01-12) | These holes are believed to be fairly modern and the remains of sockets fro wooden posts and gates. Quote from Percy Heathcote's book 'Birchover - It's prehistoric & Druidical Remains' "The visitor should notice, whislt ascending the path, the sockets and other marks...evidently at some time there have been wooden structures erected against the face of the rock". |
