|Description ||Is this a colonial root cellar or a Native American structure? Not far behind the photographer is a creek. Not far away is a hill called the Spitzenberg, or, by geologists, the Hamburg anomaly, (at its base is the other chamber whose photo I posted on the Portal in 2002), rumored to have had rock shelters that were blasted out. And facing that, closer to this chamber, is a prominence on the Kittatinny Ridge, called the Pinnacle, on which there was once a cave, called the Dragon Cave, also blasted into oblivion. A mystical-feeling area that draws full moon hikers as well as geology class field trips.|
|On what side of the Spitzenberg Hill is this chamber? What direction does it face?|
Where are you located? This chamber isn't right at the base of the Spitz. I know of another that is. This one's between the Spitz and the Pinnacle, closer to the Pinnacle. If you want more info, send me a message through the Portal's private messaging system (which I haven't checked for a while, so maybe you have.)|
