Me and krautrock were lucky that day, and not only regarding the weather.
As we drove to the Totenstatt, I expected the usual lonely place with the occasional jogger and very few tourists. But as we came nearer, many many cars were parking there.
It came out that the local christians had a gathering to celebrate the day Jesus went to heavens (Himmelfahrt).
So we didn't disturb them and silently wandered over the Totenstatt, enjoying the impressive remains and the wonderful weather.
When we came back those christians invited us to eat with them, a free meal right there between the barrows.
It was very tasty, and right in time. |
