The sun viewed from the eastern end of the southern row at Merrivale seems to set above the west end of the northern row. If you've read 'Dartmoor Sun' by Jack Walker from nearby Tavistock, you'll know that this is one of his observations about the reason for the layout at Merrivale.
(Sorry if the photo is a bit dull. I'm unaccustomed to using the digi camera in this light.) |
