(2010-10-18) | This is only partially correct. The date given here is not a calibrated RC date. The mound itself is a beam and shadow dial, much like Maes Howe and is probably older than 2000BC more like 4600 BCd (2600 BCE) | DrewParsons
(2010-10-18) | There is a more detailed and newer site sign which states that a small henge was built at this site around 3000 BC. Later the tomb was built over that site. I am in the process of posting onto Megalithic Portal photos from a trip last month around Anglesey and will post the photo of the site sign shortly. I hope this helps. |
