Often megalithic tombs are reduced to “capstones” and “uprights”, but at this site it is possible to study the refined original drywalling. There are also larger stones used inside the drywall (marked 1 and 2) that will have been quite important to the statics of the tomb. The removal of those stones will be one important reason why some capstones can be found to be collapsed into the chambers at other sites (February 2009) |
