One possible cup close to area of deep weathering. If it were not for this area of weathering, the cup would be considered to be a definite prehistoric carving. however, the extent and form of the weathering suggests that the cup is a natural feature also. The peculiar nature of the weathering, not seen in on other rock on Stanbury Hill could suggest that there was an area of carving which retained water and accelerated weathering at this spot. The new find will be accepted as one possible cup. |
