One of a series taken 1 June 08 to study markings.
This face has a definite long narrow 'spine' in its centre. [Funnily, I've just noticed that it even looks like an elephant head and trunk! Were there mammoths around then?!] ;-)
It would be the side overlooking anything going on in the circle [Cerrig Duon], so if it was an 'idol' stone, this carving/representation might be important. It may just be natural. |
