Description Looking north west where would have been the southern edge of the neolithic enclosure.

That's the Whimble in the distance, isn't it? I wonder if they used that alignment to acknowledge Summer Solstice sunset from this angle?

Whimble indeed. There's also a hill called "The Smatcher" and for stones folk... "Burl Hill". LOL.
The line of the enclosure would have been close to the field boundary IIRC. I guess the main thing would have occured somewhere inside the vast rim of 1600 tree trunks...

'The Smatcher' sounds funny. Does it mean anything in local lingo? [Can see Jim Carrey in the title role!]
Aubrey will be pleased to know a hill is named for him.;-)
