Contact them for permission to reproduce it. |  | | Description | An old stone gatepost(?- no hinges) at Farmcote in Gloucestershire (Cotswolds near Winchcombe). Most stone gateposts across the cotswolds are square in section c.40x40cm and stand upto 1.5metres high with a rounded top. This gatepost is unusual, in that it is a rough triangular shaped stone which has then been extensively carved and shaped on three sides, with recesses that suggest it had wooden posts tightly against it, plus some small rectangular sockets of unknown function. There are also some small holes drilled through the stone which look like a wire fence may have once been attached.
This stone is on the side of the road and is about 1.2metres tall. |

(2010-04-30) | We specialise in shapeless gateposts nr St Keverne on the Lizard. Locally known as Crusairs they are formed naturally from unworkable gabbro. Some ice age process left some of them with one flat side & one hole bored in this is sufficient to hang a gate. |
